They passed by me without acknowledging my presence, though their movements suggested they were aware I was there but none of them made any eye contact with me. I wondered, Where am I? What is happening? These men were strikingly handsome, all under 40, athletic and vigorous. I watched them hurry back and forth, still damp, as if driven by purpose, and then I woke up.
